Ran my car for a few seconds without oil ><
we've ran trophy trucks that push over 1000 hp with out any oil in them for a couple of miles before smoke or seizure, 5-10 seconds is really nothing

Thanks guys....I'm starting to feel better about it now. My buddy who knows alot about cars got me all worked up when he told me I may have wrecked my engine. I've put about 20 miles on it so far and everything seems fine.
It should be fine if you ran it for a very brief period. You have to remember that everytime you start your car it takes a few seconds to even build oil pressure so the engine is starved briefly anyways.
There is a short incline from the alley to the garage that made it impossible to push. So what was I thinking? It was a stupid adrenaline filled move I did out of panic to keep my car from blocking traffic. My neighbors go through constantly. But go ahead and rub it in if it makes you feel better.

Yeah..I'm totally kicking myself for worrying too much about inconveniencing others. It's just the way I am. I'm sure people would understand or may even have helped. If I only had a time machine.
Seriously....you're alright.
I have a friend like that who makes a mountain out of every mole hill just for the drama. Just tell him you understand what he is saying so he shuts his mouth; and know that you'll be alright.
We can tell by how much you are stressing that you will, and have normally always taken great care of your vehicles. Now go have fun!

it takes a good couple of minutes for an engine to sieze up without oil, the 10 seconds u took to drive the car back in, i think it would be the same as having the car out in freezing winter and starting it, prolly takes a couple of seconds for oil to start flowing anyways
You're fine as long as you didn't push the gas too hard! It takes at least as long to build up the oil pressure after an oil change. Notice how long the oil light stays on when you first start it after an oil change, even if you pre-fill the filter.

You are fine! I own a company that builds engines for sprint cars. We have had a few customers fail to properly install a dry sump line and run a few laps (3/8 or 1/2 mile dirt ovals) at almost 9000 rpms with no oil. The engines were torn down and did not have any measurable damage. You will be fine.
