just threw a rod got some questions

like the title says i just threw a rod threw the side of my block today. the car had a turbonetics kit on it. i think timing wasnt being pulled enough but im not positive. but anyway im going to get a used motor because thats all i can afford right now. so i have a few questions:

-my car is 6 speed do i need a motor from a 6 speed car, or can i get a motor from an auto car?

-can i get a motor from a z, or is that too different like with connector locations and such?

-also how hard would it be to put a rev up motor in? would it just be motor harness and ecu or am i just wishing it was that easy? haha

Rev up is a going to be a hard one, but can be done. You can get a motor out g or z and it will bolt to your tranny

The people that I have seen do the NonRev to Rev conversion almost always used a stand alone- ie HalTech..

From the way you posted, and limited budget, let me throw in my .02c. Anytime you replace with "other than stock" be ready for little "gotchas" along the way. They cost $$$. Even simple things... cost.
For a limited budget, I would stick with the stock motor and check the tune. Better to back off a little on the timing and boost and save the motor until you can afford to r/r it again.

well when i get a motor to put in the kit is not going back on right away. im not going to put it back on until i have enought money to build the motor. im just going to run stock for now and i think im just going to go the easiest and cheapest way i know and thats just to get the same motor i have and put it in. im still wondering can i get a motor from a car that was auto? or does it have to be stick because mine is stick?

Just get a non revup. They were the same regardless of stick or auto/ regardless of Z or G

Not sure what your budget is but check this link:
http://www.importpartspro.com/shblpa.html

They have short block packages that are pretty decent in price. Maybe it'll fit your budget.

You can add the revup cams to a non-revup block for some added power.
