g35 coupe engine died, please help
my 05 g35 coupe 6MT started ticking on the freeway and once i stopped, the engine knocked like it was being hit with a hammer 30 times a minute.
i had it towed and opened up, they found that the oil pump is faulty that lead to the crankshaft bearings to **** up the crankshaft itself. Also, one of the pistons heavily wore down a cylinder.
anyway, the warranty people stated that they'd replace the engine, however they would select a used one for me. my question is that, i have the rev-up engine, how would i know if they sent me a rev-up engine? they wont tell me the year or how many miles are on the engine.
if they sent me an older engine, lets say 04 and below, then it would have 286ish HP as compared to the REV-up found on an 05-06 engine that has 307ish, a difference of 20hp.
Is there a way to identify the engine if it was a REVUP model?

Revup = higher redline and more linear drop off from 6200rpm
No-revup = More agressive tq curve and lower redline.
Where did you read about whoping 20 hp difference?
PS: It is a good idea to check your oil once a month or so in the future so u won't have blown engines.
i checked that oil weekly bro, it was up to the line. the problem was that the oil wasn't getting to where it was supposed to be. thanks for the info. i saw the 20hp difference on another forum, i googled it.
