I own a 2004 Gcoupe and lost a motor cuz of oil consumption. I get a new one next week, but is it worth putting a pressure gauge to help monitor the problem?

Any suggestions??

Why don't you just monitor your oil level every few days? I don't think an oil pressure gauge would help. If you lose your motor because of no oil, the pressure gauge won't tell you until it's too late. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.

 

yeah thats wut i was thinking, i change oil every 3k but idk how it happend

 

Oil pressure can drop as oil levels go down, during cornering the oil can slosh around causing momentary drops in oil pressure. I would think if it did get low enough to drop pressure it could help with knowing if you have enough oil in the motor.

 

After my V2 warranty oil consumption swap. I installed oil press and temp. STRI gauges, awesome gauge

 

looks good. im going to look into gettin one soon as possible. I found out i only had half qt left in the motor and had no idea or no warning of it. I was confused b/c i always keep up with the oil changes.
