I heard that a ECU reflash from the dealer helps with the shift points somewhat

dealers dont re-flash the ecu (they like to call it ecm)... I think you are referring to a tcu software upgrade that helps the early model cars.

TS, Osiris, etc all flash the ecu and wont effect the transmission.

Contact DaveB or Jeff - I think they both had the TCU update you are thinking of.
