Sorry to bump this old thread - but I had a question. If I remove my current gauge cluster to modify the lighting on it, then reinstall it, do I need to worry that my mileage will be reset back to zero, or can I rest assured that the mileage will stay recorded in the cluster? I do not want to screw with the mileage recorded, as it will mess up any warranty I have left.

The odometer keeps the mileage even if the cluster is removed. If it was that easy to erase true mileage every dealership and private seller would be trying to roll back mileage.
