Changing oil how often?
when do you really need to change the oil in these g35's? I have a 04 sedan g35x. I am changing it around every 5k miles. I dont see the point of every 3k. Couldnt you even wait until 7500 miles? Also is it really needed to get oil changed at infiniti dealership if you do not do it yourself? They charge about $50 for regular oil.

You can go anywhere you want to get your oil changed. Go to a Nissan dealer if you want to save some cash.
I wouldnt go 7500 miles on regular oil. 3-5K is a normal change interval for conventional oil depending on your driving habits and conditions. If you want to go longer switch to a synthetic oil.

Every 5k here.
Super easy to keep track of and it's a perfectly good compromise between the recommended severe conditions 3750 mile intervals and the normal conditions 7500 mile intervals. Been changing the oil at 5K on my cars for well over a decade now, never had a problem.
3K is old school IMO, unless you truly are driving within the severe condition criteria.

I change mine every 3,750 miles or 4 months whichever comes first, and I do my own oil changes on all my cars. Been doing it for the last 6-7 years.
My opinion is, if you spent good money on a car that you own, the least you can do to take good care of it is by changing the oil yourself and not paying some random monkey wrench do it for you.

I change my oil myself. It's really a trust issue as there are few people I trust to work on my car.
I usually go every 5K. 3K is more of a result of marketing vs actual need, but i agree that oil changes are cheap and it doesn't hurt so why not right?
If you do a lot of highway driving, you can go longer than someone who does city driving.
If you are really concerned, you can have an oil analysis done by blackstone labs and it will tell you how long you can go

My OCI is currently at 6k, I will be doing a UOA from Blackstone when it warms up a bit, currently running Amsoil SSO 0w-30, should be good for 7500 at the very least.
