Nos octane boost

First off I am not a ricer. I simply want to know if there would be any downsides to regularly using NOS Octane Boost. I was looking into the street legal stuff that boosts 93 Octane to 96 Octane. If anyone has any info please let me know. Thanks!

Waste of money, and if you think you are making more power you are not

It does not do anything if you are not having any pinging issues.

I was in Jersey one day and had the gas station attendant fill up the car and he filled up with 87 octane by accident. I had to drive my car 160 miles home and it really felt like I dropped a cylinder. The engine was noticably underpowered. Based on this, I thought it would increase the performance by having a higher octane fuel.
