Md 5/16 instal....help!!

just installed my md 5/16 spacer. i have a problem. i used all the bolts that came with the kit besides 2 bolts. i couldn't screw them in because of this...take a look and tell me how to take these "screws" off so i can put in the 2 bolts...here are pics..

You're gonna have to take the upper plenum back off and the spacer. Take one nut from those and thread it head first. Take the other one and thread it normal. Then take an open ended wrench and loosen it with the bottom nut.

Hope that makes sense.


Or get a Star socket that fits it.

It's in the directions on MD website. screw on one nut, then a second as a "lock" nut tighten them togeather and use that as a "bolt head" to remove it.

if you dont have that star type socket you have to take it off, screw 2 nuts on it and unscrew the bottom nut, the stud will unscrew!

If you get torx bits you can leave it on. but if you do it the other way, you gotta take it off

That's so strange, I didn't have those torx bolts on my plenum when I installed my spacer. Must have been something the factory had laying
around when they put this one togeather....LOL I was ready too, I have
that socket set. When your other car's a Vett you can't live without the
whole set....
