Secondly, what brands did you guys go with. Cosworth is my first choice but Tomei makes a wide variety as well with slightly higher Duration than Cosworth, but there's also JWT, Crawford, etc.

Let me know your experiences and what you saw out of your cams.

Choosing the right cam will compliment your build, There is no one size fits all that is why GTM offers many options when it comes to camshaft selection, from mild to wild with different specific application whether N/A, Supercharged or Turbocharged .

Here is a link to our web site with all the choices we offer:

Also here is a link with some of the cars we have built with our cams:

You do not want to purchase gtm cams! They are knockoffs of the jwt cams and are made in mexico, and have been widely known for metal impurities within the cams. This is one of the reasons why gtm's motors are being found to be defective. Do some searching.
There are only a few camshafts casting companies left in the world, none are in Mexico. GTM, JWT and Brian Crower camshafts Blanks all come from the same manufacturer - this is a fact.

Same casting, same place, same heat treating, all come from Estas cams from Turkey, so according to what you are saying JWT cams are junk.

Our cams are a knock off according to you but we were the first to offer different cams for different application and we were the first to offer and 272 degree and 280 degree camshafts.

I guess all you can do is bash, at least try that with some good info for once.

That said, there are of course cheap copies out there on ebay and such. You CAN find cams that are great for NA and FI. Research builds in the FI section and NA build up section over at my350 (as linked above). CALL cam builders. Mr. Wolf and Mr. Clark love talking about their camshaft designs!

My personal opinion is that the camshafts with the best record to date on this platform (and supported here in the USA) are JWT, Brian Crower and GTM. Call Sam at GTM and ask him about the design of his camshafts. He's designed them for specific applications rather than a one size fits all (turbo, sc, NA). In my personal limited research I've seen some GTM cams with great midrange gain but I honestly haven't seen a lot of builds with them (not saying they are bad cause I really didn't research them in depth). I personally run JWT S2 cams (which make good power NA and are also a great choice for mild FI applications where stock driveability is a concern). I talked to Mr. Clark over at Jim Wolf Technology for over half an hour to learn more about what goes into the R&D for their cams.

Here are some links to get you started. Good luck.

When I was Vorteched I had the JWT cams in for awhile and picked up some nice gains.

I have also been looking at GTM's cams especially the turbo cams for my application but with so much choice between mild and wild it is really hard to come up with a one fits all application.

I would search on my350.com if you really need expert advice from people who have actually had a set installed, not many people on this board go into great deal when it comes to power gains on certain products out there.

rcdash has posted up some good info already plus Sam is always knowledgeble just like Sharif is on on the Z forums.
