Anyone used this "liquid gold in a can"? How well does it work?

 

I've used it in the past, no noticable difference.

No video, car is still on jacks, i just got my bumper back today. But it snowed last night (damn now it just sounds like im making excuses) but please, rest assure, i will get a video out there!

 

Thanks. Ive poured a quart of transmission fluid into my gas tank (an old trick which basically does the same trick as seafoam) Same goes with marvel mystery oil.

 

I've used it a couple times on my vettes... and a lot of the vette guys use it. It really REALLY cleans up the intake track/piston tops/valves.. etc. There's a couple guys that did it and tore down the engine. It was spankin clean.
Anyway, if you do use it, be prepared to start up the car the next morning at 3 am BEFORE your neighbors are out. It BELLOWS clouds of white smoke for 15-20 mins of driving. I coasted down my street, around the corner.. and then fired it up. lol.

 

I did it last night. I had just got done installing a brand new head on my toyota pickup and the pistons had a lot of carbon build up on the heads. I used some scotch brite and a dab of seafoam and it got it right off. I poured the rest into the brake booster hose and sure enough it choked it out. Let it sit for about 15 and then fired it up and it made quite the scene Going to drive it over a 100 miles tomm so will def break everything in.

 

Just pale clear oil, isopropyl alcohol, and naptha, so it cannot do much harm except possibly in gasoline.

What worked years ago on cast iron blocks and heads must be evaluated on newer all aluminum engines, especially those with weak ring tension and precision bores.

 

just make sure guys to do an oil change after this. alot of it goes out the exhaust, but you'll definately see the effects on the oil. So do it before an oil change!

used to use this on honda's all the time. only drawback is, some people with really high mileage engines actually had the carbon deposits filling in little holes in the pistons and valves,and after they got clean, those holes werent filled and consequently ended up in engine rebuilds.

 

Just to clarify on this, It's 1/3 in the oil, 1/3 in the gas tank and 1/3 in the brake booster line correct? No more, no less? I'm gonna do this. I'm due for an oil change. I have a full tank of gas. Does that matter?

 

I never noticed any difference when I did it, it may have been running well on its own before it.

 

on my acura tl this stuff worked pretty good. i blew out clouds of white smoke.

 

which line is the brake booster line? pix plz

 

It's the thick rubber hose. It's coming from the intake manifold to the brake booster. In the pic its the hose right above the brake fluid reservoir.

 

a delivery truck at work (chevy 1500 with the 4.3l) had a stuck lifter and was tickin pretty bad. put half a bottle of seafoam in the oil and it cleared it right up! MMO is pretty much the same thing IMO. i put half a bottle in my car to see if it hopefully helps with my.....smoking issue at cold starts. prolly wont tho.
