HP Output Question

When an engine is rated at X hp @ Y rpm are the hp values only valid at WOT?

Rephrase:
If our engines are running at 6200 rpm with only 75% throttle is it still outputting 280 hp?

Re: HP Output Question

With electronic throttle control you never know exactly what the real throttle plate via the throttle motor is doing.........unless you look at OBD2 voltages.

When you floor the inside throttle the ecu decides at what rate it will open the real throttle.

Realistically you must monitor the MAF voltage and rpm to calculate an approximation of HP/TORQUE.
