so ive come up on some money that should be here by august at the latest..and i have 20,000 to spend on my 03 g35 5AT...now i for sure wanna do a engine swap to a engine with fewer miles or brand new even because mine has like 106,000 from commuting, other than that the cars in great shape. O and i want to put a 6MT in i hate automatic just figured it would be best for commuting on the freeway everymorning in bumper to bumper traffic, but now im done with that i am aslo planning to go FI the cars pretty much stock any suggestion on which route i should go?

definetly wouldnt going fi is gonna be at least 10gs for a proper set up and install.

It'd be much easier if you just traded in for a 6MT with less miles, then go FI. i wouldnt want to be putting so much strain on an engine with 100k miles already.

Sell yours, take the money + some of that $20K to buy a newer low-mileage 6MT coupe, and you should still have money left over for FI. IMO a swap of both engine and tranny isn't worth the cost....

+1 there, most definitely. If your requirement is a lower mile motor and a stick, this is a good place to start. You can get a low mile 6MT for $20k or less, and sell your current vehicle to fund the mods for FI.

Keep in mind if you go this route, you probably won't have enough money to do everything "right". You won't have enough money to build out the motor for a lot of boost. You may not have enough money for a nice brake job which is important when you make more power. I think you need to set some goals for yourself. You said you wanted FI - how much power? 400 WHP? 500? If your goal is the fastest G ever, then you can better achieve that "throwing" the money into your current vehicle. However if your goal is a clean 6MT with a mild amount of boost, then buy the 6MT.

Save youself from the headaches associated from the somewhat crappy 6mt ( Every single person that I know that has a 6MT has broken it at some point ) and build your auto to handle big power.
If you MUST have a 6MT than go ahead and swap the tranny.

Build your engine to handle the power and you kill two birds with one stone. 0 miles + forged internals.

Twin turbo it and turn up the boost.

You can do a LS2 engie swap for less than 20k. Get a low milage pulled motor or brand new crate motor with no mileage. Also would take care of the transmission swap at the same time, since you have to put in a new tranny anyways. The T56 manual lines up perfect with the Z/G, very little modification is necessary.
With a little head work, you could easily have a 500hp NA daily driven car that sounds like a monster. Add nitrous, you can easily have 650 hp 700 tq.

Wait till you have the money in your bank account, then make plans.

20k down payment on a GTR sounds about right.

Sell you car and get a 6mt. DONT BLOW ALL YOUR MONEY ON A CAR AT ONCE. take your time and research 1st. I know there are plenty of us on the boards with over 20k dumped into these vehicles but thats done over time. Spend some and save some. Have something to show for it.

Yes, I think everyone on here that is giving you advice to sell your auto is correct. I've made the mistake of putting money into a auto once, only to sell it for a manual later. You will be glad you did. 20K is alot to put into a car. I wouldn't do it all at once. good luck!

If I were you I would have your auto built up and engine rebuilt or do a low compression shortblock. Don't waste all that money buying another G... autos are alot of fun with TT setups.
