Besides forced induction I can't think of a single individual na mod that would give you what you're looking for in terms of low end tq. In the other hand, a handful of na mods along with a tune should yield some good low end power (1500-3000rpm).

A tune is always the key to low end power for an na vq35.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I did notice a little difference with my new wheels, but I'll give up a little power for the better look. I know there's lighter wheels out there, but I practically stole these things. Wheels and tires for a grand is tough to beat, and they look great on my car. Pics never do justice.

Plenum spacer is the next mod coming, it should def help me out.

Since nitrous is a fixed gulp per rpm a very very mild jet say 25 HP [at 6k ~~ 22 lb/ft] yields 44 lb/ft at 3,000 and 88 lb/ft at 1,500 rpm.

You only use it in 1st gear to launch after that [4,000 rpm] the natural engine does its thing.
Not using nitrous more than a few seconds worth means the tank can last 50 times

I have the same wheels and these are WAY heavier than the stock 19's. I have the 20's though and with tires, they are 20 lbs heavier (per wheel) than the stock 19's with tires I've lost GOBS of torque with the Sterns and I'd imagine this has a lot to do with your issue too. But like you, I got an awesome price on these too which ultimately justified me getting these because they do look good on the car.

^^^ It’s a very fine (and challenging) line between looks and performance… I always consider both. It’s definitely easier choosing one or the other… but I’m a masochist and enjoy the turmoil brought on by trying to get the car to look cool and perform great.

Kidding bout enjoying the pain of course… but it really is a challenge sometimes.

I hear you on that ^. As long as my car is "fast enough", and not necessarily "fast", I can still sleep at night. In the meantime, I like seeing guys and girls when I drive by
