Manumatic Mode

A couple a couple of questions for guys with AT and who drive in Manumatic.

1. Do you guys downshift when in Manumatic? I ask this because you cant really rev match in order to downshift and I am afraid of wrecking the tranny.

2. Is it bad to switch between Manumatic and D? I normally will drive for a little in Manumatic and then switch to D. Is their anything wrong with that.

3. If you get a VB upgrade can you still drive in D or do you have to drive in Manumatic?

Hope some of you guys can answer my questions I don't really like to drive in Manumatic only because I don't know answers to these questions and because when in Manumatic I feel like im riding the car a lot harder and the ride quality is completely gone. Very rough driving when in Manumatic. Thanks.

1. Yes I downshift, only when its at about 2500 rpms though but, I don't downshift from 2-1

2. No its not, if you're in MM and you switch to drive it will automatically put you in whatever gear it believes you should be in, or if you're in the right gear already its not a problem.

3. VB upgrade you can drive in any mode you want.

VB is valve body, upgrading it give you some pretty crisp shifts in manualmatic and Drive.

It would perform the same. Main reason for getting a VB is if you are FI. W\out the VB, in drive your car would over rev with the VB it shifts faster so you don't over rev.

I always downshift.. But then i have an 05 withrev-matching. GOing from 3-2 and 2-1 is still somewhat rough though. When theres no traffic i play with feathering the gas a little which rev matches it a little better ( ?).

When you guys drive in Manumatic mode do you guys take your foot of the gas when shifting or do you just stay on the gas? I assume it doesnt matter because their is no switching into Neutral when shifting because it has an automated clutch but I wasnt sure. Thanks guys.

I keep my foot on the gas while up shifting and down shifting. But it also depends like if I'm in traffic, I'll be hitting the brake slowing down to about thirty and I down shift to about second so I can get the rpm's high so I can get over quickly.
