Question HELP! my car throttles on its own when slowing down.

my car throttles on its own, from 800ish RPM to 1200ish RPM for at least twice for very short time (half of a second), everytime when slowing down.

is it some sort of special feature of 05 G35 that i've never heard of?

what would u suggest ? taking it back to the dealer since it's still under warranty ?

thank you

isn't that normal that the car will have slighty higher revs when it shifts to a lower gear, at least that's how it is with a 6mt, is that when it happens when u feel it shift gears?

Mine doesn't do it all the time but maybe sedans do? Mine downshifts sometimes when slowing down slowly or when I slow down and accelerate again

Have you messed around with the throttle body recently? When it does the rpm fluctuation, can you feel a slight surge below 5mph?

Are you sure it's not just rev-matching when it down shifts?

When you move down the gears, (in manual, or auto), the revs will jump, as the the engine speed will be higher for that speed, in that gear. It's the same principle as heel and toe. So, when you go down the gears the revs will jump each time it goes into the lower gear.

It would help to know what year and trans you have?!?! (I'm guessing auto because of your comment, but the year would tell if you should see rev-matching or not.)

Have you messed around with the throttle body. If so, I know the answer on how to fix your problem. I've had the same thing happen before.

Try resetting the ECU... just unplug the negative for 5-10 minutes to be sure and reconnect it and try. I'm probably thinking it's what DaveB is trying to ask you about... Your throttle body position sensor is just going whack... If resetting your ECU doesn't help, then it's something else.
