Having a problem with Cold Start?

I need EXPERT HELP? When I start my car in the morning, I get a cranking sound for the first 1-2 seconds, and then it goes away. I am not sure what the problem is. I took it to the dealer to get it check out, and the ****'s said that it was the oil that I was using. I was using mobile 1 synthetic oil for the first 60,000, and they said that I should use only Mobile 1 non-synthetic. I do not think that is really the problem. Has one else experienced this problem?

Sounds like a fishy explanation to me. Why would it be the oil if it meets the viscosity and weight standards? Makes no sense.

I would suspect your mod combination first, or perhaps one of the sensors - MAF? TPS?

Not the Oil

I've been using Mobile 1 full synthetic for 37,000 miles & never heard the noise you described. Full synthetic provides ultimate protection over dyno. Hope you find the real problem!

Could be the altenator wearing out

I've been using synthetic for 100k klm. No cranking sound here. It sounds like your dealer is an a$$. The timing chain explanation makes sense... a little noisy until the oil gets distributed at startup.

Thanks

So, where should I go to get the time chain fixed. I not sure... can I DIY or is something I am going to have to take to the shop?

Thanks for the heads up guys, I feel little better.

Also, I have 75,000 miles on it.

Last, I am looking for HKS exhaust hi-power. Is it really that good?
