fuel type?

in lieu of the economy, has anyone downgraded to PLUS gas? I've been using premium for my 06 g35 coupe AT, and i was wondering what the difference might be if i start using PLUS instead of PREMIUM

well considering gas has gone down compared to when most of us bought our cars, I see no reason for this. 93 is recommended, but 91 is permissible. Unfortunately where I live premium is 91, so that's what I use.

I definitely would not use 89 though if that is what you mean by plus. I also think if you can't afford that extra 10 cents/gallon you should consider a different car. Ours aren't incredibly cheap to maintain, and if money is that tight you should consider other vehicles.

This has been discussed numerous times but the consensus is put premium in it as Infiniti directs. I rarely drive my car so the extra expense isn't much for me.

saving $4 isn't worth it imo, just get one less starbucks/burger/whatever per week and your even.

I ran my car on regular 87 for three straight fillups to see how it would run and there was no difference. My gas mileage was the same and the car felt the same to me. I fill up 2-3 times a week so saving $6 per fillup can be almost $100 per month. Now I know that when I finish my mods and get my car tuned I'll probably have to use premium, but until then I don't see the need.

900-1000 miles per week. My last car was an 07 that had 82k when I traded it in. I get between 400-450 per tank with this car so far. I wonder how much that will change once I get everything installed and get it tuned?

I run 93 only. Not even 91 I like to spoil my engine. Nothing less then 91 should be used.

Yep I'm a salesman. I sell car electronics and accessories to new car dealers and I cover the entire state of NJ as well as some of NY. I had an 06 Dodge Magnum that after 13 months had 58k on it right when gas was getting real expensive, so I git rid of it for a Hyundai. Hated the Hyundai, but put 82k on it in under two years then I picked up the G.

My wife has 95k on our 04 Murano and all she does is go to work and visit family, but we decided to by a house about 75 miles away from the rest of our family so it's always a trip to get anywhere.

Hey Moon, if you're driving that much do you get a gas allowance? You should use what it says in the manual 91/93 octane. If you get an allowance go with the manual if not it wouldn't hurt to cheat with 89 once or twice a week. If I was driving what you do I wouldn't be driving a G35 but some small 4 cylinder go cart that got 50 MPG and I'd keep the G for weekends.
