Water in my donor motor. Can it be saved?

I am in the middle of swapping out motors. The donor motor was left outside under a "waterproof" cover. To my surprise there was water all over the engine after a recent rain. To make matters worse the intake manifold was not on the motor and water seeped in through the valves. I have blown most of the water out with a compressor but am wondering if there are any other precautions I can take to save the motor? I have not turned it over at all. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

It should be okay as long as it was not running when it injested the water.I would pull the plugs and put a little marvel mystery oil(get it at pepboys, autozone) in each cylinder first and crank it over as it will expell allmost all the water.Next i would change the oil and run the engine for about 30 minutes and change the oil again and you should be fine.

Thanks for all the advice. It appears that the motor is fine. No water came out but now the car wont start due to no fuel and spark . Immobilizer maybe?
