Model Year Question (from a different angle)

Anyone,

I've read that if someone wanted to get the 2003-2004 model year G35 ECU reflash from Techno Square that their vehicle has to be a pre-2004.5 model. I've also read that all vehicles with VIN ...800000 and lower are 2004 model year G35's.

Well that sounds good, but I have a January 2004 delivered G35 that probably has a build date of late October or early November 2003. Would it make sense for Nissan to be building 2004.5 models in the 2003 calendar year?

So far I haven't pulled my glove box and other stuff out of the way to actually look at my ECU, but I have looked over the window sticker (and got no where). From there I checked my VIN and am left with this question...

Do I really have a 2004.5 model year vehilce if it was built in 2003?

TIA

Re: Model Year Question (from a different angle)

Mine was built in 2003, I have a VIN over 80000 and it is a 2004.5. The Service manual classifies the 2004.5 by VIN number range. Check your VIN and you'll know. I've heard, can't remember where, that the 4.5 started around October/November. It's mainly a ULEV2 thing.
