Rear Drive Axles Question

I'm pretty sure I have the infamous rear axle ticking/clicking. I followed the TSB and that did not fix the problem. I am thinking about switching axles to diagnose the problem even further.

Are the rear axles interchangeable? I want to switch sides to see if the noise will occur with the current left side axle. I'm pretty sure they are, but I just wanted to double check.

I have a 2004 G Sedan 6MT.

i' confused about the fact that the TSB didn't fix the problem. you took it to the dealer and they couldn't fix it? or did you try to lube it yourself and it didn't work? because if they do the TSB and that wasn't the problem they should've checked something else or maybe you need a new set of axles.

Thanks for the replies, I am also confused why when I applied the grease the problem was not solved. The six differential bolts are tightened more than the FSM recommends and the axle nut is tight.

What sound do the rear hub bearings make when they go bad?
