Be careful... This may not be the best place to save a few bucks. I bought the Stillen and it completely toasted the transmission on the very first run. $9k later they ponied up $3k although admitted no liability. They did try to fix it, but the 2-3 shift is still pretty slow.

If you're trying to save money on the kit alone, just don't get one, cause you'll crap your pants at the Labor cost.

I believe he is looking to find the transgo for cheap. Not a cheap alternative.

Did the install, took about 4 hours or so waiting for fluid to drain and cool off and swapping some bolts and all that stuff, the car seems more downshift happy or maybe its just my imagination but whenever I'm at low speeds and I give it more than 1/4 throttle it downshifts and peels out like mad. The shifts are definitely firmer, instead of a "lag" it feels more like a solid shift like you would feel in a manual car. I havent had a chance to take new vids yet but once I do I'll put them up. Coming to a stop slowly it definitely feels a little clunky right before you stop. If your very gentle with it you'll barely notice any difference but once your on the throttle the shifts are very crisp.

As a note to anyone doing this after I was done it took about 5 1/2 quarts to refill.

Where did you get the kit, was it the Transgo shift, how much was it and did you do the install yourself? How were the directions if you did it yourself?

I bought it used from another member here, it was from SGP, they use the transgo kit. All I had to do was drop the old VB swap some bolts to the new one and bolt it in. I used both of the instructions from stillen and from transgo to help in the removal and installation of the VB and they were pretty straightforward.

As far as actually installing the transgo kit that is not something I think I'd be comfortable with.

[QUOTE=sharif@forged;4215849]Yup...it's happened to us, and its very very frustrating. As a rule of thumb, modify your own personal VB...do not try to buy a previous modded version. There are 3 different VB versions I know of, and they are all very sensitive

So would the transgo be something that i could use in my car??? 06g35 coupe

yes. The post you tried to quote meant don't buy a used valve body that has already been upgraded... modify your existing - because there are several versions (may not be compatible).

In s nutshell, yes a Transgo kit will work in your valve body.
