Should plugs be changed to get the best out of N/A mods?

What brand, type and temperature are suggested?

How often should they be replaced?

Because of coil on plug ignition, little can be gained and lots lost from changing plugs that oem had designed for engine.
You won't find a plug that will give you one more HP or the factory would have used it!
Every HP counts in Marketing a car real or imaginary!
Finding 4.0 cheap HP could get an engineer a big raise and promotion plus Geisha house entertainment for a week.

Watch out for DEADLY multi electrode plugs which have been know to promote detonation and have individual electrodes knocked off and score the cylinder liner after stress........+4 brand.

Iridium is usually a costly substitute for platnium.

If you stay with oem and change at 60k [vs alluded to 100k life] you will be way ahead!

Q45tech,

I just paid $5.99 for 8 Platinum Spark Plugs for the Sequoia. They had 4 points on the ends and were supposed to have a 3 year money back guarantee. Are these the "+4 brand" that you're referring to? If so, I can take them off and get a refund.

I thought I was doing a GOOD thing by buying them.

The above statements are only my take on the issue. If you disagree with anything I typed then you are 100% right!

I agree with Q45 tech, unless you are putting out insane amounts of hp (requires colder plugs), the stock plugs should be fine. What do they say - 1 step colder for every extra 100hp?

Copper plugs might give you a few hp, but they'll have to be changed very often...not worth it IMO

neffster...et all,
i have always thought that the +4 plugs were a gimmick anyways.

the reason is because at a microscopic level, one of those legs is longer than the other 3, and electricity will always take the path of least resistance. it looks cool, but i think it will act and perform like a regular plug.
