Sounds like firecrackers under my car over 45 MPH? WTF!

On my way to work tonight everytime i would go over like 45-50MPH i would hear like fire crackers going off under my car. It was pretty loud and i have no idea what it is. It would not do it under that speed but i pulled over to the side of the road and lights went out in my dash so i shut off the car. I figured it was the battery not plugged in all the way so i checked it. It was a little loose so i tightened it. I started driving again and went 45 and it started again. its a scary sound and i have no idea what it is..i thought it kinda sounded like it was coming from my driver side wheels but i guess it could have been from the engine or transmission also. NO IDEA, im at work right now and i am not getting out till 6am.

I unplugged my battery so that when i get back in my car tomorrow and replug maybe a check engine light or something will show..

PS: when i REV to redline while in park it doesnt happen.. also my car is a 2003 5AT with 60k Miles.

Not a normal sound. Any guess on where it is coming from? Passenger/Driver side? front, middle, back? Exhaust?

After further inspection i found of that part of the plastic in the front left wheel area was loose and after a certain speed it would make a loud crackling noise. thank god it was just that..
