Why does SLIP come on

What exactly does it mean when the "slip" light comes on briefly. Is there a warning or problem? I have noticed it flashes once in a while under hard acceleration from stop on various road surface. My VDC is on as well.

If this is covered elsewhere apologies as i couldn't find it

thanks

it means your tires lost traction and your vdc temporarily cut your acceleration till the tires gripped again.

^^what he said

if you are slammed and you go up in a driveway this tends to happen, solution: turn vdc off for that part

if you are taking a corner pretty fast and the *** goes out this happens as well, solution: don't take the corner/turn that fast or if you want to be brave take off vdc however I wouldn't advise this, haven't had person experience but i'm told you can land in a pole doing so lol

It means your engine is under horrible stress and is about
to blow at any second.... you should take it to the dealership
and see what they can do about it...

I keep my VDC turned off unless it's raining or the roads are wet. I wish there was a way to keep it off all the time so I don't have push it every time I get back in the car

The VDC on these cars seems to be programmed to cut in very early, at least for a sporty car. From what I understand when you turn it "off," it's not ALL the way off. For some people this is a good thing though. I've seen a lot of people that are over-confident in their driving skills run out of talent real fast by pushing a car too hard with the stability control off, or on cars without it at all.

you can still do donuts with it off so Im not sure how much of it is still active when in the "Off" position.

I haven't tried that one myself so I guess I shouldn't have listened to what other people said. I know it's the internet though so certainly they couldn't have been wrong!
