Do you know at what point or what could possibly force VDC to kick back in?

KP Tech's VDC memory module is awesome. Mine's been off for like a month and a half now and I only had to push the button once

Now what's it mean when the VDC is off but the slip light comes on?...

i went through a period where the slip light wouldn't go out. infiniti's solution was to replace the brake pads. has worked normally ever since

thats only for cars like Mercedes which likes to make sure grannies are okay to drive if they accidentally turn it off...our cars dont bother with that ****, you will find yourself in full blown drifts if your not careful...trust me on that one.

by the way, OP, this is covered in your owners manual, thats the best place to check why the lights come on, there's a whole section for it.

I know what you mean man, i turned my vdc off to see how the car feels.
i took a corner to fast the back end kicked out ( i felt like i was in the fast & furious) but luckily i got the car back before i jumped the curb. but this was with my snow tires. im pretty sure my summers would have gripped much better!

Do all cars with the weight and horsepower of the G35 have VDC or something similiar? It's made out to sound like this car is some 600hp beast that can rip tires apart with one slip of the gas pedal if you turn it off. Certainly there are more powerful cars with no sort of traction control that get driven daily without issue, but maybe not. I'm obviously missing something here, I guess. Maybe all other cars do have a similar feature, and I've just missed it.

I'll take your word for it on that! If I ever end up in a drift I it wouldn't have been on purpose and my next stop would be to buy new underwear and have my seat cleaned.

Off the top of my head I can't think of a similar type of car for sale right now that doesn't have some type of traction and/or stability control. I think there are two reasons why the VDC on these cars are made out to be such a big deal. First is that a lot of people on this forum probably drive their cars harder than the general public and the other is that the VDC is pretty sensitive and will come on often in "spirited" driving. I had an 04 GTO with 350hp that had traction control but no stability control. I never had any issues with not having stability control and the TC allowed some wheel spin so I didn't turn it off that much. But it was nice when you did because it was fully off and you were left solely on your talents alone. That could be good or bad though depending on how likely you would be to run out of that talent!
