help with do-it yourself transmission rebuild or just go with dealer

my 2004 g35 coupe with 6mt needs a new tranny.dealer quoted 3,000 for parts and labor for new tran and new clutch.stock oem parts.
1.i already have done the research and this seems like a good price but if i am having them pull out the tran i might as well get a racing clutch and lighter flywheel and have it installed as well.anyone have experience with dealerships on installing aftermarket parts?

2.found a transmission rebuild kit with snychros for 740.would it save a good amount of money to just try and do it myself(and is there any special things i need to know about taking off the tran and replacing it) or should i just save time and the hassle and take it to the dealer.

thank you for any input

and also i was thinking of going with like a act stage 2 and fidanza flywheel but would a nismo clutch and flywheel be comparable?

nismo clutch and flywheel are both made by Exedy, same as the stock. NISMO is only slightly lighter than the stock(flywheel) but the clutch is much better.

I would stick with the ACT and FIDANZA like you are thinking. I think you will like the combo better. Just know that with the fidanza flywheel that you will get chatter.
