Hotchkis suspension..... is it worth it?

I'm considering mods from my soon-to-come G35c and while I would like to increase the horsepower I'm probably going to end up just getting a K&N and Z-tube and stop there. POSSIBLY borla exhaust but I'm worried about emissions and warranty troubles (anyone care to comment about that? I'm completely in the dark with that stuff)

But the real reason I started this post was to see if its worth upgrading the suspension.... I'm looking to just get a kit and leave it at that, and nothing too major (i.e. expensive). This rules out coilovers or anything of that sort. So the question is, is the hotchkis suspension package worth it? I dunno how I feel about lowering springs since I live in NJ and in the winter it would be a snow plow and with all the potholes, steep driveways etc I would probably end up redoing the paintjob on the underside of the car.
Does the added stiffness take away from the driveability of the car? This will be a daily-driven baby that will rarely see any REAL hard driving let alone a day at the track.

Keep in mind I'm just looking to spice up the performance a lil, not get too crazy. Let me know any suggestions you guys can offer. I really appreciate it! Thanks in advance.

I would recommend the Hotchkis for anyone interested in handling and curvy roads. After my experience at AutoX and track driving schools, my impression is that the G35C is an excellent performance car, but excess weight and staggered tires makes it understeer under heard load. The understeer tendency is very noticeable and you need to hit the brake early before going into turns. While a set of sways won't completely eliminate understeer, it is a very cheap and effective way to strengthen the body rigidity, reduce flex and make the car handle more neutral. I would definitely recommend it.

Hotchkis cost around $250, which is much cheaper than most other effective performance mods you can get.

Is the set of swaybars hard to install?? Does the rear bar interfere with the trunk? i've looked at other cars and I know in certain ones the rear sway bar goes in the trunk and is very visible, almost limiting the cargo space in the trunk. I dunno if this is the case in the G but I want to keep the car looking stock.

drewbagel423 Your thinking about strut tower bars. Sway bars are under the car and have nothing to do with the interior. You cannot have a front strut tower bar on the G35, but the car does have a rear one that you cannot see.

Sway bars are a relatively easy do it yourself install. They are two really excellent how to's with pics on www.my350z.com

since they are adjustable... u will be able to balance rear and front stiffness to get a neutral feel (get rid of the understeer). the body roll will also be reduced (the car will stay parallel to the ground better instead of leaning to the side and feeling like its gonna flip or something)

2004 Black on Black g coupe 6spd.... aluminum pedals, clear corners, z tube, and pop charger. soon to have 19" volk gt-c's and PIAA xtreme whites in the clearance and corners

yes very big difference in ride the wobble that i felt on the car while cornering hard is gone. i have the softest setting in front and medium in the back. i originally had it at the stiffest setting in the front but it gave my car major understeer. so i adjusted it till i was satisfied with my settings. keep in mind i have the s tech springs installed in my car as well. goodluck on your mods...hope this answers your questions.
