narrow band o2 sensor swap to wide band

I have a 03-04 G running a narrow band o2. I was looking into changing the o2 sensor to a wide band. My question is, can I change the sensor and computer or do I need to change the wiring harness as well? Any help w/ this would be great. Thanks.

This is going to be difficult... The sensor is wired into the ECU. Obviously you can't just switch to wideband because the voltages are different. You could use something like the Innovate LC-1 which provides both a wideband and a narrowband signal, but then you will have to jumper the heater signal to keep the ECU happy. I don't know what "computer" you are talking about... it's not so easy to swap out the ECU.

I was thinking that if the wiring harness is the same can i just use the CPU and o2 sensor from a newer model G. Like the one from the 2004.5 model. From what I understand there were two different model out in 04. The 2004 and 2004.5 which came out in the middle of 2004. The only difference from what I know is that they switched from the narrow to the wide band o2. I think it's still a VQ35DE, I may be wrong. Now dos the wide band o2 have more wire then the narrow band? If it wires up difrent then this may not work. The only reason I asking is that I'm running a Cobb AP and it will not ready my A/F because its looking for the wide band.

Narrowbands are 4 wire while Widebands are 5 wire. You'd have to add the extra wire to the harness.

I would expect there is a lot more to an ECU swap than just unplugging the old one and plugging in the newer year ECU. There would be a ton of differences in the wiring harness as well. Not an easy switch by any means. You have mentioned the O2 sensors difference, but there would be differences in most electronic components throughout the car.
