noisy idler pully

I have a 2006 G35 sedan with the 6mt. it has had issues with a noisy idler pully. it has 10K miles and is only driven in nice weather. it was replaced once during warrenty and just before it went off lease the belt was replaced.

infiniti said that it is a common problem. anyone have some solutions? how aqbout aftermarket pullies?

thanks

john

There are no aftermarket idler pulleys. Not that common of a problem, at least not that I have seen.

Not a common problem at all.I had to replace mine but that was due to the stillen s/c which put a lot of stress on that idler with the belt setup of the stillen.Since getting rid of the stillen i havent had a problem with it.

I had to replace my AC idler pulley. I thought it was just the belt, then it snapped a new belt.

Idler pulley is a common issue according to all the dealerships I've talked with. You can hear the bearings when you spin it if its toast.
