Some mods I am looking at.. help

Hi, currently I am looking @ gettingn for my 5AT diamond graphite G -

Crawford v5 Plenum
Z-tube
K&N filter
Clear Corners
Aluminum Pedals
OEM Front Lip

I also hear that Helix test pipes are a good cheap addon for about 170$. Does anyone have any experience with them?

This will all run me about 1050$ and that includes shipping / tax but not install. If my upper limit is about 1200$ do you guys think I could be doing anything different that would be better?

Looks good to me. The only thing you might want to have help installing is the straight pipes.

Another mod that is cheap and easy would be one of the Grounding Wire kits.

IF you do all those free flowing mods You most likely will lose HP due tot he fact that your ECU is not set up to run.

That is my opinion and I know a few people that will back me up on that.

(you can have test pipes made for much cheaper at a local muffler shop dont waste you money on the helix!) again my opinion

Helix will not be CARB approved so you may have problems having your G35 smog. Another good mod would be the U/O pulleys (approximately $300). Good mod hunting.

dump the front lip and just get a decent spring setup or maybe an exhaust to compliment all the intake mods you're doing.

Re: Some mods I am looking at.. help

ok.. I have decided not to do the plenum.. I am now set on going with

Ztube
K&N filter
Aluminum Pedals
Clear Corners
OEM Front Lip
Hotchkis Sway bars (? maybe ?)

With JUST the sway bars will i notice a handling difference or would i need a whole kit?

Also, after I had my car for 1200 miles i got the ECU reset and have been driving it hard ever since.. what did you mean by the ECU comment?

Your car would be running to lean, you would need the technosquare ECU upgrade.

if you replace the plenum and high flow cats you would need to.

Re: Some mods I am looking at.. help

Not neccessarily. I am working on a idea that migth not require the TS ecu upgrade for those mods. We just need to find a way to get in a little more fuel.

Re: Some mods I am looking at.. help

My opinion is that the ECU is already prepared for the variance of air that the NA mods described will do to it. Sure the TS reflash will help, but not necessarily required. Don't be afraid to do all those mods without it, you will be fine.

Many of the "lean" problems cited on this board have been reported from dynos that simply aren't qualified to report the real lean/rich condition, as Q45Tech has eloquently explained far better than I could. Click his username and read the details for yourself if you'd like to understand why, I'd just botch his words; but he's convinced me with mathematics.
