Friend of mine just bought a '03 G35 sedan. he wants to bring it to the shop and change the oil, trans, air, fuel filter and just do a check up. any advice on some common things we should check out while its in there would be great. any other tips and tricks for a new owner?

This is pretty common stuff, the shop should be able to handle it

Spark plugs stick with NGK Iridium IX cant go wrong
Tranny fluid if you have a 5AT then you need Type J auto fluid which has now been replaced with S matic fluid only Infiniti and Nissan dealership have it locally or you can order it through a couple websites
Oil is whatever you like, I personally use Royal Purple 5W-30 and Mobil 1 oil filter
Air filter just purchase a z-tube and a JWT popcharger or Stillen hi flow intake
Diff fluid change I would do also, How many miles are on the car??
Coolant flush is easy but beware of air pockets there is a DIY on infinitihelp.com

I purchased mine off of stillen.com and conceptzperformance.com has some good deals on intake and exhaust combos you can even look in the classifieds here on this site to purchase a new or used intake.

Differential fluid any type of gear oil will work there is also a DIY for that on this site https://g35driver.com/forums/engine-...erential+fluid, if you have a manual 6MT

This is the cheapest I have found the NGK iridiums:

http://ngksparkplugs.ecrater.com/pro...hp?pid=2031849

Fast shipping as well.

No fuel filter to replace. It isn't replaceable...its in tank.

Use the Nissan Matic-S in the transmission.

Royal Purple 5w-30 for Engine. (some use Amsoil 5w-30/0w-30)

Royal Purple 75W-90 for Differential. (some use AMSoil as well)

Many people find oil on the spark plugs on #3 and #6 due to leaking valve covers. You have to replace the valve covers, not just a gasket.
