Radiator cap stress?

I may be wrong but I believe the OEM radiator cap has a 1.0kg (about 16lb?) Doesn't the "popular" replacement caps of 1.3kg (16.8lb) put an unwanted stress on the cooling system?

Stock radiator cap is .9 bar which is about 13 PSI.

I'm currently running a 1.2 bar cap (from the 1990 300ZX) which is about 16 PSI.

It will put a little more stress so if you have weak coolant lines you are more likely to break one. Its not that much more stress. It will raise the boiling point of the coolant some.

Thanks for the correct information. I'll go with the 1.2 bar cap.
