Technosquare update for my situation

Hey guys I am going on vacation and figured it will be a good time to send my ecu to the guys at TS. I know comepared to some of you all on here I have minimal mods but I am sure someone in my situation has done the update before. All I have done is Injen CAI, NFC Y Pipe, and HKS muffler, going to put the rear diffusers and sway bars on this weekend but i dont think it makes much of a difference. Now I did feel a lot on the butt dyno and I am thinking the TS will help button everything down. I know a lot of people are going to say get the Crawford but I have apprehensions about it. 1. My dealer service dept. is very **** and I dont wanna give them any extra excuse. 2. I dont want to take a chance of getting a warped one. 3. I dont like seeing my engine compartment all chopped up. Anyhow what types of gains should I see form this I know they will be small but I think the update will help pull everything together. Am I correct in assuming this. Thanks

well, you will see some improvement from the raised readline, as well as a/f (make sure to send Tadashi your #1 spark plug too)

Go for it if you have the extra 495 laying around, but you might consider putting the $$ towards a Crawford. Many of us who push our cars much more than the daily driver have them without issue. Not a bad investments and it only takes about 30 - 45 m to change out. (I kept my old plenum and paid the extra 190)

Otherwise, realize that ou will need to pull the ECU and send it in for a reflash ($150) should you add anything else to your exhaust or engine. (Plenum, UR Pulley, NOS , headers )

Cheers, ted

If you have an auto go for it. If you have a manual I'd say don't do it yet. There is not a huge gain, and unless you have parts that Technosquare has seen they will only be guessing albeit and educated one. The drive by wire, higher redline, and no top speed are for sure upgrades, but whether your car will benefit from the bolt ons another story. Your can WILL be able to handle those mods with the stock ECU just fine. The problem is when you add parts after the MAS and before the O2 sensor, ie. plenum, cats where the computer isn't adjust for them adequately.

Re: Technosquare update for my situation

its easy to test for a warped crawford. Set it on a flat surface (kitchen counter) right when it comes out of the box and if u can see light under it... its warped. Package back up and send it back. the TS ecu will not really give anything in the way of HP gains. It will give better throttle response (throttle is actually open as little as 75% sometimes even tho the pedal is to the floor). It will raise the redline to 7100rpm (the main reason i want it) and it will take off the limiter of 155mph *WTF DO U NEED THAT TAKEN OFF FOR!?!?!* Its really there for people who have done a lot more air modding between the MAF and o2 like it was said above. If u were running cats or a plenum (both in combination is really how u get the good gains) then i would say u probably should get one. I would say for now tho... get a crawford plenum and install it. It LOOKS like a VERY easy install as long as u get a torque wrench (i havent gotten one yet but will soon enough). If u are worried about ur dealer... keep the stock one and just change them out before u take it to the dealer everytime. Thats what i would do if i felt my dealership was going to be **** about it. Its not a long install/swap process. If u are worried about the engine bay looking bad or something, just cut the stock cover down (i guess then u couldnt return it to stock looking plenum... but o well..... U could always buy another engine cover and just have one cut down one and one that isnt.

2004 Black on Black g coupe 6spd.... aluminum pedals, clear corners, z tube, and pop charger. soon to have 19" volk gt-c's and PIAA xtreme whites in the clearance and corners
