Car troubles out of no where. Any suggestions???

I don't know what happened but I was driving home from work and got off at my exit. As I was coming to the light, the car felt different. Seemed like it was going to cut off unless i gave it gas. By the way, I drive a 2006 G35 6MT sedan. When I came to a full stop, the car just turn off. I tried to restart it... it did and then it cut off again. Turned it over once again, and I noticed the RPM fluctuate between 900 and 1000 RPMs (I'm assuming the hash mark before the 1000 mark was 900?). Either way, after I turned it over for the 3rd time, the car started up like normal and I drove home.

The ride has just a bit over 50 k now on it (had it brand new since 10/2005). My last major service was at 32k. The stealership will get a call this weekend because I have only til October before warranty is out.

When I got home, first thing that came to mind was the fuel pump??? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Ralph

Doubt it's the fuel pump. Did you get any check engine codes?

check to see if your MAF sensor is dirty.

First and foremost - I apologize to the admins/mods/users for posting in the wrong forum. I was browsing when I remembered to post.

I didn't get any check engine codes. I'll have them check the MAF. I did notice that it seemed like the car was not as responsive as before. I thought it might be due to the high temps we've been experiencing in Jersey lately. It was 79 degrees when this happened yesterday.

Thank you ttrank and nghiars for responding so quickly.

dude this happened to me as weel a while back and i also have a 06 6mt coupe. i posted here to see if it had happened to someone else, but no1 replied. on mines though it wouldn't pass 2000 rpms and the rpms needle was going up and down like crazy. it felt as if it was missfiring or something. i didn't get any lights on or anything. and after i left it sit for like 20 minutes it was all good. i havent experienced this since then.

Well it's a AFR related issue most likely. It could be because the MAF is dirty (sending a poor signal to the ECU). it could be a vacuum leak, but that should be consistent. it could be the ECU tune is off. You could do a reset (disconnect battery cable overnight).

Good luck.
