what is the best way to clean are mas air meters? Just get a can of electronics parts cleaner and lightly spray it? I don't want to damage it!


The reason I'm asking is my car is eating fuel like no tomorrow! Its an 04 coupe with 65k! I took it to Infiniti and there no help at all! They told me to do a top end cleaning! I all ready cleaned the throttle body and clean the injectors but nothing has changed! Even though its eating fuel idle and driving it has no changed! This all started over night! I took it to Infiniti for recall on the fuel lines and seemed to notice it a few days after! I don"t smell fuel or anything like that! Im stuck and dont know what else to do! Please help if you can!

 

maf cleaner at FLAPS. throw some seafoam in the gas tank as well.

 

Why does Seafoam [isopropyl alcohol and pale oil] added to gasoline help anything.
Most gasoline already has 10% ethyl alcohol added.

8 ounces of Iso added to 2 gallons [256 ounces] of Ethanol is 3.1%. As for pale oil kind of like adding oil to a 2 stroke weed whacker.

 

I use electronic parts cleaner since I had some from work. Just make sure it is safe for plastics. Or just pick up maf cleaner at just about any auto retail shop.
