I wanted to start a new thread to see if anyone was interested in posting there mods, gains, and what they paid. Also feel free to explain why you chose a certain brand over another. I have some plans for my sedan but I wanted to hear form some people who already got there hands dirty.

As for engine mods (without going FI), I have done the MotorDyne MREV2 lower plenum and the MotorDyne 5/16" plenum spacer. These were the only mods that the "Butt Dyno" said worked. I also added a NISMO Cold Air Intake (long tube) and cut out a piece of the plastic behind the lower left grill to let in more cold air. HOWEVER, as I have the Rev-Up motor, I think the factory air box was just as good (using a Z-tube) but it does not SOUND as good.

Edit: I did all those mods for less than $400. I bought everything from members here. They were all used parts. I replaced the air cleaner on the NISMO CAI with a K&N cone filter ($40).

$400 for hks muffler, $100 for coupe mid, $40 for HR Y-Pipe, $60 for z-tube, $50 for K&N, $250 for MD Spacer, minimum difference in horsepower (15 tops), only increase in sound. Waiting for HFC's before going to tune.

Get a MD plenum spacer and call it a day. Everything else performance wise, short of FI, is a waste of money. Dropping $2k on bolt-ons to get marginal power increase isn't my idea of fun.

If I could do it again I'd go for drop, wheels, and body kit, and pocket the rest.

+1

I found this lesson out the hard way. Spent nearly $2K in bolt ons on another vehicle when i could have spent that on "serious" mods and made more power in the long run. FI is the way to go.

But i know what it's like to just sit and say "Well, i want to do a couple little things just for a little more power" all too well.

I haven't done a thing to my sedan. Just gonna do wheels and suspension and call it a day.

However...i would like to do the MREV2 though.....

^ Yeah, but you have the 'Stang to satisfy the 'mod bug'
I really need something like a 240sx or a z31 to do stuff to, because I keep having to reign myself in about bolt-ons for the G!
