If it were me, this would only be worth it if I went with a VHR-TT. You'd save on most of the labor because the motor is already out of the car.

G37 parts catalog is online now and only for the coupe apparently so I went and compared parts with the first gen 03-06 sedan.

These are diagrams for RWD models I think.

So it doesn't look like it will just drop in a first gen sedan 03-06 so custom mounts need to be made.

But the good news is that 2nd gen 07-08 VQ35HR G35s the VQ37 motor does bolt up with no custom fabrication.

Left side is 03-06.

This is the 07-08 G35. I don't see a point in swapping the VQ37 in a 07-08 G35 since they have about the same curb weight but I guess it's worth it for VVLE and a bit more power since everything bolts up and it only needs wiring work.

This is the G37.

That has been a good read so far!

I found a pic of the entire setup on a G37 matching the diagram above. Everything under the hood just drops down together (suspension, brakes setup, subframe). Makes it easier to take out the engine than on a first gen G.

This kind of setup is actually common on some European supercars. It's probably cheaper to produce and lighter than a first gen setup.

That setup is the reason the front sway bar is not interchangeable between gens but the rear one is since the rear end is unchanged.

I've been trying to find a motor for a good price.

For this one which is damaged beyond belief they want $3500 shipped to me. Unbelievable high price. I can get a built longblock Revup for that price.

In the pics you can actually see the VVEL camshaft. This G37 most likely flipped over and I bet it's a member here too or on myg37.com Car only had less than 1500 miles. What a **** up.

Today I looked at some diagrams of the 2007-2008 350z with the VQ35HR motor and found out that even though Infiniti went to the 2nd generation FM platform in 2007 with the VQ35HR the 350z stayed on the first generation FM platform for 2007-2008 with the HR. It supposedly means that the motor mounts from the VQ35HR 2007-2008 350z bolt up to the VQ37 motor since the block is the same so the VQ37 can be a direct bolton to a first gen G35 with the 07-08 350z motor mounts and possibly the crossmember. Wish someone from a shop could confirm it.

Here are pics of the HR 07-08 350z motor mounts and cross member.

I just found motor mounts and a crossmember that makes everything bolt up to a first gen. Only thing holding me back is a proper VHR for the right price.

Prices at junk yards are really high right now because people stopped buying new cars so demand for used parts and used cars is high. Even an 05-06 Revup is the same price as a used VHR.

My precious VVEL.

I need ECU and main wiring harness. I'm possibly going to keep the dash harness. I wont know if I can keep that until I take everything off and install the VHR main harness.

It will be a G35-G37 half-breed but better than both.

i believe you will have to swap dash harnesses also as the start signal runs thru the ac/auto amp.

Shouldn't be a problem getting a dash harness and shouldn't cost too much new.

I'm going to also need a smart key to start the car since it's push start.
