Has anyone made it to the drag strip yet? I managed a 14.5 @ 97 with a traction limited 60' time last night. I made both runs with the traction control off and one in manual shift mode. Both times were about the same.
Stock tire pressure, 92 oct. fuel and 3597 lbs with driver.
I should have dyno numbers next week and hopefully a few performance upgrades in the near future.

Great runs!
How did you launch your car to get the 14.5 in the 1/4?
If you would kindly be specific.
Did you torque-brake?
Did you start out in 2nd gear.
Ect.
Thanks
Oh, now that some Coupes are hitting the streets, is your car an auto?

Re: 1/4 times
The car is an auto sedan. On the first pass I left it in drive, VDC off, and launched at around 2700rpm and the tranny shifted at about 6600. The next pass I heated the tires and tried to shift it manually. I had the same 2.2 60' time but picked up 1 mph at the end. My goal was to shift at 7000 but the tranny has a long delay and I hit the limiter going into second. I'll give it a try again next week and see if I can perfect a technique.
I'm use to racing a 9 second/ 150mph Eagle Talon so it's difficult to race something so different on the first night.

Wow, fast car! What mods did you put in ur talon?
What rpm is the limiter set at? You can go towards 6600rpm wihtout hitting the limiter? Thats surprising
Did you make any mods? CPU changes?

Re: 1/4 times
I am confused.
Maybe I don't do it right?
1. Shut VDC off
2. Car in drive
3. left foot on brake
4. Bring RPM's up to 2700 rpms
The back wheels onm my car start to spin.
Is there a trick to releasing the brake before the wheels start to spin?
Thanks
Am I missing something?

Re: 1/4 times
step on the brake hard enough so that the wheels dont spin.
and do it right before you are about to launch. not two seconds, but right before.
the rev limiter on my car seems to be 6900-7000

WOW Jeff you have a G35
Just to let you guys know Jeff has one of the fastest AWD Talons in the country and has been featured on many magazine articles. He owns his own performance shop and has alot of great products. I recently sold my 97 GSX and my G will be here soon, that is a VERY fast time for a stock 4 door I am impressed. Maybe with some basic mods and traction we could go 13s. Welcome to the club Jeff.

Tom,
The race track has a much stickier surface than the street. I have tried the same launch around town and it just spins.
I broke the Talon on the dynojet Friday (at 602 lb/ft. torque) so I may take the G to the track this weekend for the "Import vs. Domestic" bracket race.
