Dude, did u see the dyno chart on UT's website? 230.7 to 250... That is a crazy 19 hp gain at the wheel... not some small *** 5-6... I will be happy for 10...

Dklau33,

I am only trying to relay the experience I had today with the new Y pipe installed on my G. When i say the car pulls harder, i mean the car pulls harder. Those are the words i chose to best explain my experience, if you disagree, then thats fine, everyone has their own opinion. Just don't tell me that my opinion is wrong.

IN MY OPINION, i am very pleased with MY RESULTS and I would recomend this Y pipe to all of my fellow G brothers, even you Dklau33.

I'm not saying you are wrong so don't get the panties in a bunch. Just trying to see what you "really" meant. There is a difference between "pulling harder" and "MUCH harder". Don't want people to be misinformed that this Y-pipe is some magic piece and is going to add MaD tYT3 p0waH. Seriously, I would agree that this Unlimited Tuning Y-pipe does give gains and would give gains similar to those of the other Y-pipes out there such as the JIC, Fujitsubo, NFC, etc. But 15-20 rwhp??? No way. I for one already have the NFC Y-pipe so I know there are some gains to be had as that is the most restrictive piece of the stock exhaust after the cats. I too am happy with the results of the NFC Y-pipe. So maybe my point was a petty matter of semantics. Just don't want people to get steered the wrong way.

i agree with darren about the amount of power a y-pipe can provide the coupe.

look at the dyno numbers from Florida and Northern California...there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY you are going to get 15-20 RWHP. Getting 5 is more realistic.

Do not buy ANY Y-pipe expecting to get those numbers.

it pisses me off to no end the claims these manufacturers make.

note: i just looked at the dyno posted on their website...what the hell is wrong with the "stock" torque curve? something fishy is going on...

UrbanG35: Do you believe every dyno a manufacturer puts out on their own products? I tend to put more faith in the dynos put out by neutral parties who have no vested interest in the said product. Refer to this thread where the Unlimited pipe was dynoed on a fellow members car.

https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...view=&sb=&vc=1

Put out gains that were exactly consistent with the other Y-pipes out there.

Hey Guys,

We had an OPEN INVITATION TWICE when we did the DYNO on both the 5AT G35 and 6MT 350Z, the Z gained more HP than the G and the #s are only for reference, the Dyno results showed a maximum of gain, you guys can always call the shop to veryify the results, they are located in Great Neck, NY. North Shore Auto Salon is the name of the shop, thanks.

Re: Installed Unlimited Tuning Y pipe on 6mt *DELETED*

dklau33: I just read the dyno post link you send me... there is a significant difference in the result... however, these two dynos are done based on 2 totally different cars, a 6MT Z and 5AT G... I would like to see a 6MT Z vs. 6MT G... but neither u nor me has the UT y-pipe right now... So I would not argue with you on your personal opinion...
Plus I heard people saw the UT y-pipe at the GW Bridge meeting... and it looks great... and the lip spoiler, the CF Engine cover, the mysterious window tint, the smoked tail lights and the smoked side markers... sounds like UT carry some quality products for the G...

Re: Installed Unlimited Tuning Y pipe on 6mt

Is the diameter the same as stock or is it different? Did you use a transition tube ?

Re: Installed Unlimited Tuning Y pipe on 6mt

The pipe is designed for use with a aftermarket system down stream. It has a 76.3mm/3" flange diameter, oem is a whole 1/2" narrower at 65mm/2 1/2". The fact that they made power in spite of that is tells you just how bad the oem pipe is. But if your bothering to spend a dime in the chase for added power and your keeping the narrower oem pipe down stream, do yourself a favor and do a simple transition tube install to eleminate the 1/4" high wall in the flow path. If you can't bring yourself to do that buy a Y-pipe that is ment for use on a oem system.
