I actually just got this issue, but its usually when I'm stopped at a light, i did run over a road kill a week ago n thought some of it may got stuck in the engine bay and burning off but nothing there...I'll check the coolant levels tonight, btw its got 85k, normal temp. 93oct.

I'm assuming u have a 6mt, so that's smell could be your clutch burning after a hard take off. Thats when mine happens

I just got this smell tonight was worried. I hit 100 MPH a couple times on the highway coming home.

When I got to a stop, my car started smelling like the hot/burning coolant smell. I thought it was bc my coolant was low but my temps stayed in the normal 40% range.

I took it slow and easy the remaining way home after that and noticed the smell go away the closer I got to the house.

I'm still going to check everything again tomorrow and add coolant if its low

Anyone change their cabin filter out to see if it solved the issue? I haven't changed my filter yet but the smell problem has gone away for some time now especially since it's geting warmer out
