Lightbulb Engine smell coming through the vent/heater when driving hard..

...it just kinda smells, can't figure out if it's tires or oil, but it smells a bit. No lights going off, and the oil level is just fine.

Any thoughts? Thanks. I've been using 93 octane btw, that may have something to do with it...

Same thing with me, but only if I run a couple of times. Doesn't happen if I push it once but if I do it multiple times I smell something. It doesn't really smell like burning but kind of does at the same time, sort of metallic. 93 octane as well.

Yeah the coolant level was a little low, brought it back up to Max. I'll report back if the smell has disappeared.

Welp, the coolant didn't change anything. Still kinda smells like 'engine' or 'oil' or 'tires' not sure what the smell is, but it only comes through the vents when driving in low gears and having high revs.

So far not a clue what it is, but I'll just theorize that I'm letting the piston rings tear into the cylinder walls better.

Unless someone has a better hypothesis.

Don't worry about it. Its a combination of hotter coolant/engine oil/hotter exhaust. Its normal. Just make sure the gauge isn't going up too high.

The car doesn't seem to smell anymore, maybe I finally broke those rings into the cylinder walls, and no more engine smell.

I find it a little irritating that the cabin air intake is located in the battery compartment. They couldn't come up with a better place than to suck air in from the battery?
