Black smoke from mufflers when punching it....

My friends are telling me that i get a big burst of black smoke when i punch it. And when i say punch it, Im already rolling at a moderate speed, then floor it. Or i down shift n floor it.

Any ideas as to what it is?

FYI: Apexi air filter, One piece stainless steel intake tube [kinda like Fujita], 1/2" plenum spacer, new NGK Iridium spark plugs, New valve covers, UR pulleys, Strup Ceramic coated headers, fresh engine + tranny + diffy fluids, coolant delete mod....stock exhaust n stock cats at the moment.

Oh and speradically i get a random misfire code. Maybe like once a month or two months.

Black smoke is usually indicative of your engine running excessively rich.

If you are running NA, you may need a tune to help lean your mixture a bit, or if your running FI, it could be normal.

Try cleaning the maf sensor.....it's easy and cause these symptoms. It can also be the pcv valve....usually there will be a hint of blue in the smoke because this will cause some oil vapor to bypass into the plenum. The pcv is a common issue on VQ's.
