Nismo CAi V2 Mistake

I think i read this is some other guy's post before also. But, anyways i ordered a nismo v2 cai from performancenissanparts.com and instead of v2 they gave me v1. Im really upset about this because its such a hassle to return this to get the intake i wanted. Im starting to think if its even worth it. I kno the nismo v2 cai looks alot better, but in terms of performance and hp gains which intake is more free flowing?? And is it worth it for me to return it back??

I know most of you are probably going to say yes performance is about the same. But did nismo themselves also give out the same identical numbers on how many torque and hp your going to gain on both intakes??

Re: Nismo CAi V2 Mistake

Yea i just spoke to jason from performancenissanparts.com and talked about the mistake and he actually told me the intake i actually have is different from V1 and V2. He says there was something wrong witht he version 2 nismo intake and thats why they stop sending those out. And the version i have is actually the Nismo cold air intake version 3. And he says the parts lookin striking similiar to the V1 cold air intake but the filter, the maf housing and the pipe size is actually different. I dont know if this is tru but thats what jason told me. You think what he says is credible or he's just bsing me to save himself trouble??

I couldn't tell you about the v3? issue but in my experience, Jason is very straightforward and honest.

I don't know much about the intake, but I'd have a tough time believing that Jason would lie to you about it. He's always seemed pretty forthcoming to me.

Re: Nismo CAi V2 Mistake

Didn't someone else here get a v1 intake when they ordered a v2 intake from him in the past? I could totally be mistaken though, maybe this is just deja vu.

Re: Nismo CAi V2 Mistake

i'm the one that posted about getting the wrong nismo intake in the g35 coupe forum.
i think what he's saying about the v3 is true. reason being, i was reading the DIY for nismo cai install, and i was comparing the parts, and the last pipe that goes with the filter is a little shorter, and some couplers look different also.
but i ordered a v2, and they gave me the wrong version so i got my money back. i only liked the looks of v2.

Re: Nismo CAi V2 Mistake

Well from what i heard from jason. Although the v2 looks better, but it really doesn't work as well. Jason told me that some ppl with the v2 nismo intake actually reported a loss in power. He also said right now the v3 is actually the best intake out of the 3 versions because the pipesize is a little bit bigger. Its suppose to give u the most hp increase. Although i doubt there really is any difference, maybe like 1 or maybe even only half of a hp better than the other nismo intakes. But nevertheless its a difference. And they also fixed the issue with the AC lines in this version.

Re: Nismo CAi V2 Mistake

Performance Nissan is great! I bought my z-tube and p/c from them. Jason did the installation write up for free (to help the G35 community)! Jason also sold me my UR Underdrive Crank Pulley, then took it back and gave me a FULL REFUND w/o any hassle when I got cold feet and decided not to install it. Then they took an order for a Fujitsubo Exhaust, which I canceled without any trouble. All I can say is that they have done right by me time and time again. Only good experiences to report from this shopper. I bet GG35's experience was just an abnormality, as I've heard many good things from other posters about Performance Nissan.

The above statements are only my take on the issue. If you disagree with anything I typed then you are 100% right!
