Without even getting into the technical reasons why this product sucks, think of it this way. Manufacturer's don't use it. It's a rather cheap easy kind of mod. If a OEM was looking for power and this thing truly worked, I think we would see this as a standard part in many cars. But we don't. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
