Auto Lights Questions
I know there is a thread about this but I am not 100% sure what exactly to ask my dealer for so I will explain my situation. I have a Compustar alarm installed (Amazing alarm BTW). I have remote start on my 6spd, with this alarm when I take my key out of the ignition the car will stay on until all the doors are closed, that way it knows the car is not in gear when I try to remote start it again. My question is when I have my lights on Auto and I close the door since the car is still on it doesn’t start the timer to turn the lights off as quickly as it normally would on Auto. They shut off 3-5 minutes later. I know you can change some of those settings on the BCM Control Module, which one would I change so they will turn off sooner, or is this impossible.

Re: Auto Lights Questions
Don't fix the car, fix the alarm.....
The alarm should have a 'factory rearm' output on it. Connect this wire to the drivers door pin. Once the car shuts down it will output a signal to make the car think the door opened and closed. The only side effect is that your widow will drop 5mm or so and then raise back up.
I ran into this issue while working on my remote sunroof opener/closer. It is possible to get around it though!

Re: Auto Lights Questions
Well the reason I ask is because the way the alarm works is the car stays on after I take out the key until the doors are closed then the cars shuts off, that letting the alarm know the car isn’t in gear and can be remote started next time I try. If after the car shuts off and I come back and open a door it cancels the remote start so just in case I knock it gear, etc. So if I use your theory it will cancel my remote start everytime.

Re: Auto Lights Questions
It has been a long 14.5 hour day, but let me run this by you, sorry if it doesn't make sense.
Connect pin 30 (common) of a common bosch relay to your door pin. Connect 87A (NC) to the door pin input of your alarm.
During normal operation your door pin will function as normal.
Connect 87(NO) to ground. Connect 85 to 12VDC and 86 to the (-) rearm output.
Now, when your alarm outputs the signal to rearm the system (pulse the door pin) it will actully cause the relay to switch. This will disconnect the door pin from your alarm BEFORE it sends a the ground from 87 to the door pin circuit. As soon as the pulse is over it will connect your door pin circuit back to normal.
Should work without a problem at all. If you need a schematic or more info let me know. Also, there is a PNP (Park/Neutral Position) switch IN our tranny. This switch is at ground ONLY when the shifter is in neutral. This wire can be used on most alarms to allow starting only when in neutral. Much more convienent then the shutdown procedure of your alarm.
