Re: Mods Installed

Well this morning the sound didnt sound as bad to me, guess i just needed a good night sleep

But i'll give it a few weeks and see if the drone quiets some. I still think I will probably end up getting the Nismo for the heck of it, Im curious to see how good it is...

Ya you can tell the difference between the sideskirts and the rest of the car. Some times during the day it looks pretty close, other times it looks almost grey, like the coupe off-white color.

Re: Mods Installed

Give it 1,000 miles then evaluate it. I've had mine for about 8,000 and I like it a lot. Occassionally I notice it intruding but more often I'm trying to hear the lovely sound. It's worth every penny above 3,500 rpm and makes the few times it might be loud worth the momentary inconvenience.

Re: Mods Installed

I've also got the Stillen and I was very annoyed at first with the drone. But sicne it passed the wife test and later the wife's friends test, I gave it a second chance. Sometime around 1000 miles or so I think it finally finished breaking in and now it sounds great. There's still a bit of a drone right at 2500 under load, but a lot less noticeable.

I'm a mid-30's old fogie if that helps put it in perspective.

Re: Mods Installed

I've had my Stillen on since May -- got a great deal on it from a guy who's girlfriend didn't like it.
The sound at first seemed too much and like said earlier, I felt that everyone was staring at my car because of the noise.
I must say that the tone has changed -- due to tempering of the metal and carbon buildup on the inside.
The only time it tends to bother me is when I'm cruising up a hill under load and the rpm's drop to the 2500-2800 range.
The slight annoyance is well worth putting up with since about 3500 rpm it gives me a push into the drivers seat when at WOT.

That Stillen sounds wicked at 90 mph in 3rd gear going though a tunnel and I'm 41 next week.
