Fuel gage calibration

On my G35x 2006 the fuel gage seams not well calibrated, when i fill up the tank the needle goes well over the last line (above the fill up line on the gage) and when the yellow light start to glow to indicate that i am close to the empty point the needle is well over the first line (the bottom one). I was expecting that the needle would at least touch the first line (the bottom one on the gage) when the yellow light start to glow and that the needle could even go a bit under the bottom calibration line before the tank being completly empty. I never test if i could run the car until the needle reach that bottom line... effraid to stall before

3 questions:
1) do you experiment the same thing ?
2) is it possible to recalibrate the fuel gage ?
3) how many miles / km could we normaly do when the yellow light appears ?
