I have a 03 G35 Sedan and lately it has been having trouble cranking. It takes several attempts to get it started. The lights come on so I'm not sure if its the battery. It is an old Nissan battery and I'm going to get it replaced today.

I'm going to post a youtube video the noise its making.

If you listen at 0:06, that is the noise that it just keeps making and the motor will not start. Its takes about 5 tries before it will crank.

Note: That is not my car in the video, I just wanted to show the sound because I don't know enough about cars to tell you if that is the way a starter sounds or something.

Also any suggestions for a battery?

1. Battery is the most obvious and cheapest.

2. Camshaft position sensor--but usually accompanied by a CEL, or some occasional/sporadic hesitation/stalling when you drive.

Going to go by Auto zone after work and have it tested. I hope thats the problem. Do the OEM batteries say Nissan on them?

Can't remember, but I believe so. If you're on the original battery, that's the most likely culprit.

Had the battery tested and it showed bad. Got a new battery and it is still doing the same thing.
