Question Shifting problems

Hey Guys,

I'm a newbie and I'm wondering if you can help me out. I just finished seriously upgrading my 2005 g35 a/t coupe. Too many things to list, but the major item was a v3 vortech supercharger (with headers and cams). I put a transgo shifting kit in and was told my stock tranny would be ok. A cooler was not mentioned. This turned out to be a big mistake because my tranny blew after 700 miles. My guy says this was a first for him, but from what I'm reading, a cooler is a must (not sure what to make of my guy just yet; I don't think he's an a/t expert). At any rate, instead of getting pissed, I decided to throw more money at the problem and had my transmission rebuilt to a GTM stage 3 supposedly tested to 600whp. I also had a oil and transmission cooler installed. I figured this would do the trick since my car is currently putting down 360whp.

Here's the problem. Drive is no longer remotely competitive. When floored, the car always reaches the rev-limiter, bogs, and after a second of floundering, the transmission decides to shift. The shifts are fantastic by the way. Drive chirps the tires in 2nd and 3rd, which of course it never did before (kudos to GTM). So without the rev-limiter bog, Drive would be great. As it is, Drive works ok at about 75% capacity. Now I'm expecting to be mocked at this point (or well before) for supercharging an automatic. Problem is I have a left knee due for replacement, so a manual was out of the question. Tiptronic kicks *** out of 1st, and lurches beautifully out of 2nd, but at 3rd, well before redline, there's a significant drop in power, almost like the ECU is cutting back for some reason. This is of course unacceptable. My guy said I was probably bumping up against the rev-limiter. No way. The power drop occurs below 6k.

Here's another odd scenario. I'm in 4th, cruising about 65, downshift hard to 3rd without problem. Car accelerates quickly, and when I up-shift back to 4th at as low as 6k, I get the same power loss with a sink down to 3-3500rpms. Not good. All I want is a Drive that shifts when it's supposed to and a tiptronic that shifts when told to.

My guess is the computer needs to be reprogrammed to understand it now has to make quicker decisions. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
